Job summary

Union Material Handler in Champlin, MN is seeking candidates for a material handling and shipping role. You will track, store, and stage products and raw materials, transport them around the facility, and prepare parts for shipment.

First shift options listed, with early start times; candidates must lift 30-50 lbs and operate forklifts or push carts. Starting pay is $22 per hour, with benefits including health care, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Experience working in a fast-paced team environment while meeting performance standards.
• Strong attention to detail and dependability with regular punctual attendance.
• Willingness to learn new material handling equipment and WMS technology.
• Ability to adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures for safety rules and requirements received in training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare necessary paperwork, package parts, and use the correct shipping methods to ship parts to customers.
• Check the current delivery schedule and ship parts to meet customer requirements.
• Assemble packing lists and required documentation for shipments.
• Package parts appropriately to prevent damage during shipment.
• Arrange shipping methods as necessary and maintain records of all parts going to/from the racks.
• Transport products and materials throughout the facility using forklifts and push carts.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of material units handled, perform cycle counts, and assist in physical inventory assessments.
• Load picked orders onto trailers according to specifications and sequence, completing appropriate paperwork.
• Unload, move, stack, and stage customer products and materials, keeping accurate records.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, with the ability to reach, bend, and twist.
