A leading health organization is seeking a part-time Material Handler to manage linen and supply transportation across facilities. The role includes operating trucks, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring safe delivery. Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma and a valid driver's license, with an emphasis on teamwork and organizational skills.
The Material Handler of Linen, under the direction of Supply Chain Management, receives, stores, collects, tracks, and transports linen (sterile, clean, and/or soiled) throughout SJMHS, including off-site clinics and satellite locations. The role involves working well with teams, independently, efficiently, and safely. Routine tasks include utilizing computers, tracking software, handheld units, and associated Supply Chain equipment. The position may involve delivering linen via a cargo truck, which requires safe operation and adherence to Michigan driving laws. Responsibilities include performing Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI), monitoring the truck's physical condition, and refueling as needed. The Material Handler must demonstrate proficiency in all related work tasks.
