Job summary

BlueLinx Corporation in Statesville, NC is seeking a Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate forklift, load/unload materials, and ensure accurate handling, staging and paperwork for distribution.

Applicants should have at least one year of forklift/warehouse experience, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and a proven safe work history. We offer comprehensive benefits and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.
