BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center to safely move building materials.

You will operate a forklift, load and unload materials, and manage paperwork for shipments, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with a Monday–Friday schedule, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, tuition

Qualifications

• One year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products and load/unload.
• Ability to read and understand directions and orders.
• Stable work history and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read sales/purchase orders and safety material.

Responsabilités

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in work area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For:

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

The fixed rate hourly, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
