Nucor, the leading steel and steel products manufacturer in North America, is seeking a Material Handler in Kentucky to safely operate forklifts, overhead bridge cranes, and yard trucks to move, store, load, and unload steel joist and deck products. The role emphasizes safety, housekeeping, and following procedures to maintain efficient operations.

Starting compensation is $16.72 per hour, with eligibility for a weekly Production Bonus and an annual Profit Sharing plan.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating equipment.
• Experience operating forklifts and loading/unloading tractor trailers.

Responsibilities

• Move, store, load and unload steel joist and deck products using forklifts, cranes and yard trucks.
• Support ongoing safety initiatives, housekeeping improvements and related duties as assigned.

Basic Job Functions:

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, overhead bridge cranes, and yard trucks to move, store, load, and unload steel joist and deck products. This role also supports ongoing safety initiatives, housekeeping improvements, and performs additional duties as assigned.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Compensation Data:

Starting compensation for this role is $16.72 per hour and is eligible to earn a weekly Production Bonus and annual division earned Profit Sharing Bonus. When factoring in the Production Bonus and Profit Sharing, using a 4-year average, starting annual compensation will range from 80,000 – 90,000 per year.
