Job description

Summary

This role has the main task of ensuring that materials are moved/stored, that materials are supplied where/when they are needed, and ensuring trucks are loaded/unloaded in a timely manner. This role will contribute to higher overall productivity of the entire group.

Safety - PPE Required:

  • Safety glasses
  • High vis vest

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supply raw materials and parts to the production line assigned.
  2. Remove empty bins for refilling.
  3. Transport finished goods away from the production line assigned.
  4. Remove all waste from the line assigned.
  5. Remove WIP and other material scrap from the line once cleared to move into designated bins.
  6. Update status/alert boards of line assigned.
  7. Replace tools/fixtures as needed for the line assigned.
  8. Notify proper person to schedule pickups of miscellaneous items such as scrap, trash removal, totes, out of date chemicals, metal hoppers and pallets.
  9. Perform line side replenishment audits when required.
  10. Help maintain a clean work area on the line assigned as well as assigned supermarkets.
  11. Adherence to established safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  12. Support the organization’s efforts toward continuous improvement.
  13. Support the organization’s goals and values.
  14. Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service.
  15. Help improve overall processes.
  16. Engage with all line teams on a daily basis.
  17. Provide good customer service to all customers, both internal and external.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by Logistics Manager, Line Supervisor, and/or Team Leader.
Successful Candidates Must
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis and be able to work in a standing, bending, and/or stretching position.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be experienced and knowledgeable working within welding/production lines.
  • Exhibit punctuality and time management skills.
  • Be process-driven and know how to take a systematic approach to the job.

Education and Experience: High school diploma/equivalent or higher education.

Language Skills: Multilingual a plus - English and Spanish.
