Job summary

Lone Star Bakery, INC. is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to support production in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment. You will operate forklift equipment, pallet jacks, and related devices to move goods within production, freezer, cooler and dock areas.

You will verify items against shipping and receiving documents, follow FIFO procedures, and participate in cycle counts. A teamwork mindset, adherence to safety, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of barcoding system and scanners.
• Standing/walking for extended periods in a warehouse environment, with physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts and other warehousing equipment.
• Load/unload and transfer goods within production, freezers, coolers, dry storage and docking areas.
• Verify items picked for shipping and received items against documents (bills of lading, POs).
• Operate equipment safely and follow warehousing protocols (FIFO).
• Cycle count products to ensure accountability; maintain a clean, obstruction-free workspace.
• Notify supervisor of warehousing issues or equipment malfunctions; travel within temperature-controlled areas as needed.

Summary

Performs a variety of warehouse functions in support of Production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates stand-up and sit down forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and other warehousing equipment.
• Loads, unloads, inspects, and transfers goods within the Company's production area, freezers, coolers, dry storage and docking areas.
• Ability to work in a team environment with the common goal of supporting the Company.
• Verifies items picked for shipping to sales orders and items received to bill of lading, purchase orders, and other documentation.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Follows warehousing protocol and procedures (such as FIFO).
• Ability to cycle count products to ensure the accountability is always maintained.
• Maintains a clean work area that is free and clear of foreign objects and materials.
• Notifies supervisor of any warehousing issues or equipment malfunctions.
• Ability to travel in different areas of the temperature-controlled warehouse.

Job Requirements, Education, & Certifications

• Ability to work at a steady and continuous pace to keep up with manufacturing production. Ability to accurately complete required Company documentation using Redzone.
• Ability to safely lift and/or move to 50 pounds independently using safe lifting procedures and heavier loads using team lifts.
• Knowledge of barcoding system.
• Ability to be on feet all day and perform walking, stooping, and bending functions as required.
• Ability to push and pull pallets and other packaging materials.
• Ability to understand and use barcoding scanners and devices.
