Job summary

FlexSteel, a Baytown-based materials technology company, is seeking a Material Handler dedicated to moving and organizing materials within plant, yard, or work sites. You will support production by loading, unloading, labeling, and staging inventory, while ensuring accuracy and safety in all tasks.

Responsibilities include using forklifts and manual equipment, inspecting deliveries, and maintaining clean, safe storage areas.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
• Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and verify items against packing slips.
• Record received inventory in the system and label/store materials properly.
• Rotate stock using FIFO/LIFO and maintain organized storage areas.
• Transport materials to production lines and assist with shipments.
• Operate and maintain material handling equipment per safety guidelines.
• Follow OSHA and safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
