Job summary

Metals USA is seeking a Material Handler for our Philadelphia, PA facility. You will receive, stock, label, and pull materials, operate a yard truck, cranes, and forklifts to load/unload trailers, and ensure accurate loading and documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, quality paperwork, and adherence to company policies. Responsibilities include stocking, restocking, and maintaining clean, organized work areas, with certifications in forklift and overhead crane required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Industrial warehouse experience preferred.
• Overhead Crane/forklift experience required.
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
• Ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents, blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations.
• Tags materials for proper identification.
• Pulls and assembles customer orders in order of delivery.
• Operates yard truck for loading/unloading trailers.
• Operates cranes to load/unload trailers.
• Operates forklift (5k or 10k) to load/unload trailers.
• Securing loaded material into truck and may load and unload materials.
• Checks to ensure proper material and quantities have been loaded and/or received.
• Completes and documents production and quality paperwork; follow shop system data collection procedures.
