Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation is hiring a BTS Materials Handler on-site for the first shift (7am-3:30pm). You will manage inventory, receive and label materials, and ensure safe handling of hazardous substances.

You will collaborate with the Request Processing Group to resolve issues and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role emphasizes hands-on material handling, route delivery, blending support, and active participation in safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of the metric system.
• Good math skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Maintain current on Computer Based Training using the Active Learner System.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory using bar code tech for fuels, oils, solvents and related materials.
• Provide service by collaborating with the Request Processing Group to resolve inventory issues.
• Receive and unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials; pack/label for domestic and international shipments.
• Deliver samples via seven routes daily, in line with OEPA/ODOT/rail regulations.
• Manage south campus wastes in compliance with Ohio EPA.
• Staging materials for blending; supply lab with jars, gloves and solvents; manage gas cylinders.
• Lead team meetings to improve safety and cost-saving processes.
• Perform inspections by city/state/federal agencies; participate in safety meetings.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment; maintain housekeeping and storage areas.
• Support VPP and RCMS initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Asa BTS (Blend Test Services) Materials Handler you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

The BTS Materials Handler are primarily responsible for receiving shipments of materials and for packaging and labeling materials for shipment. They manage the inventory system. They deliver materials to customers that may come in from outside sources, are created on the north campus, or are blended by the BTS Blend Group. They are also responsible for the proper disposal of materials.

In this role, you will:

• Manage and maintain the inventory system using bar coding equipment for gasoline, oils, solvents, and intermediates; corrosive and non-corrosive materials.
• Consistently provide superior customer service by working directly with the Request Processing Group and all customers to resolve inventory issues.
• Unload and receive into inventory both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.Pack and label materials in proper containers for domestic and international shipments.Safely unload bulk oils and solvents from tank trucks into storage tanks located on the south property.
• Deliver samples in both building 9 and 15, via one of the seven preset delivery routes, multiple times a day, in compliance with OEPA, ODOT, and/or railroad regulations.
• Manage all wastes generated on the south campus in compliance with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
• Support Blend Services Group and lab technicians by staging pick-listed materials on proper shelves in blending areas; supply them with sample jars, cans, gloves, rags, equipment, and solvents. Manage and distribute inventory of gas cylinders needed on the south property. Operate the glassware wash machine.
• Conduct team meetings for, but not limited to, improved teamwork, communication, safety and the sharing of ideas; strive to develop process improvements and cost savings measures.
• Conduct necessary inspections required by city, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Participate in safety meetings and ad hoc investigation teams.
• Operate floor cleaning equipment, maintain good housekeeping practices, and clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, instruments, storage areas, walkways, and roadways, utilizing various types of equipment to ensure compliance with safety requirements. Maintain and manage building 52 drum warehouse, solvent room, powder room, basement storage room, and fuel sheds located on the south property.
• Support VPP and RCMS initiatives.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have valid drivers license.
• Working knowledge of the metric system.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
• Keep current on Computer Based Training using the Active Learner System.
• Safely operate the six different types of lifts used by the Stock Services Group.
• Receive hazmat training (Hazmat technician level) to aid in spill clean ups.
• May be required to serve on the Lubrizol Emergency Response Team.
