Job description

We are currently looking for a Material Handler to join our VALUES-based organization. In this role, you will focus on:

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload trucks and railroad cars and replenish products in the designated warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is complete.
• Report issues such as shortages or damaged materials.
• Coordinate with the sales team for order adjustments and shipping issues.
• Use handheld scanners for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with the WMS Coordinator for questions and updates.
• Prepare materials for shipping by banding and wrapping.
• Arrange orders on trucks following safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies during warehouse duties.

Additional Functions

• Fulfill customer orders.
• Perform routine warehouse and yard maintenance.
• Inspect forklifts daily to prevent malfunctions, in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross-train and support other warehouse staff.

Personal Attributes and Skills:

• Proactive, self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and organize priorities efficiently.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of warehouse experience; experience in a distributorship preferred.
• Neat appearance and professional demeanor.
• Proven team player.
