Job summary

Specialty Building Products is hiring a 1st shift Material Handler in Mobile, AL to handle shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material within a safety-focused environment.

The role requires 1–2 years of warehouse experience, a high school diploma, and a teamwork mindset. Pay is $19.00 per hour with benefits; shift runs 8:30am–5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and railroad cars and replenish warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until orders are filled.
• Report shortages or damaged material.
• Coordinate with sales when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed.
• Use handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting per WMS processes.
• Collaborate with WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution.
• Follow safety procedures and policies in warehouse duties.

U.S. Lumber, an SBPBrand, is currently hiring for a 1st shift Material Handler for our Mobile, AL branch. We are looking for someone to join our Values based organization to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Mobile, AL - Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical.

• 1st Shift hours are from 8:30am till 5pm CST, Mon - Fridays.
• $19.00/hour pay rate + Benefits.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc.
• Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance Of Miscellaneous Functions

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
