Job summary

Specialty Building Products, including Amerhart brands, is seeking a Material Handler to support shipping, receiving and stocking in our Sheboygan warehouse. You will operate a forklift, use a handheld scanner and work with a safety-first team.

This full-time role offers a starting wage of $22.50 per hour, with a Monday–Thursday 6:00am–3:00pm CST schedule and Fridays 6:00am–12:00pm CST; opportunities to grow within a values-based organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1–2 years warehouse experience.
• Must be able to work Mon–Thu 6:00am–3:00pm CST, Fri 6:00am–12:00pm CST.
• Neat and clean appearance and able to work in a distributorship.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and replenish product in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until filled.
• Report shortages or damaged material as needed.
• Use handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading and cycle counting.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for shipping and ensure safe weight distribution.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA-related guidelines.

Job description

Amerhart, an SBPBrand, is currently hiring for Material Handlers to join our Values based organization to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical.

Starting Pay Wage of $22.50/hour.

In this role you will focus on:

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc.
• Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance of Miscellaneous Functions

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years warehouse experience required with some experience in a distributorship preferred.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
• Must be able to work scheduled shift: Mon - Thurs. 6:00am - 3:00pm CST, and Fridays 6:00am - 12 pm CST.
