Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in California to support production by receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials across the facility.

You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory records in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include pulling materials for production, loading/unloading trucks, staging inventory, preparing shipments, and ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• OSHA forklift certification required after hire.
• Previous warehouse, stock, or inventory experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move heavy materials.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and material information.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Pull and deliver materials to production areas per work orders and schedules.
• Load and unload materials from delivery trucks and move items to storage locations.
• Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and quantities.
• Maintain organized inventory storage with labeling, sorting, and tracking.
• Record material movement and locations to support inventory control.
• Stage materials for production and maintain in-process inventory at work centers.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by identifying, pulling, packing, and securing materials.
• Receive returned or excess materials and verify quantities and codes.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely per OSHA.
• Perform pre-use inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Keep inventory areas and loading zones clean and orderly.
• Open containers, sort materials, and assist cataloging inventory items.
• Follow workplace safety rules and PPE requirements.
