Material Handler: Fast-Paced Warehouse (1st Shift)

Aerotek is seeking a Material Handler in Troy, MI, to support a fast-paced metal manufacturing operation. You will move materials between warehouse and production, perform line-side delivery and inventory tasks, and ensure safe, organized workflow with RF scanners and forklifts.

The role includes shifting 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.–2:00 a.m. on weekdays, with occasional Friday overtime. Onsite, with full PPE and training provided; contract-to-hire potential and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of warehouse experience with inventory, picking, packing, shipping and receiving.
• At least 2 years of stand-up forklift experience in a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in material handling using forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Experience with order picking and stocking in a warehouse or production environment.
• Able to operate stand-up forklifts safely in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes and RF scanning.
• Willing to wear PPE including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection.
• Stand-up electric forklift experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Move stock from warehouse to production floor so lines receive materials on time.
• Move finished goods to storage or shipping locations following procedures.
• Support production with line-side delivery and pickup about 50% of the time.
• Organize and manage inventory about 30% of the time, pallets and layout.
• Handle miscellaneous duties including scrap, waste, and housekeeping.
• Maintain organization of customer containers and ensure accurate material flow.
• Operate stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks and related equipment safely.
• Use RF scanners to pick, pack, label and stock materials and goods.
• Assist with shipping/receiving including loading/unloading trucks and verifying materials.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE requirements to protect self and coworkers.
