Job summary

YKK AP America Inc. is seeking a material handler to support the Fabrication Department, moving and staging materials and assisting with inventory accuracy.

The role requires forklift experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. The pay range is $17.88–$21.35 per hour, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Interprets work orders and pick sheets to determine materials or carts to be moved or staged.
• Counts, weighs, measures or examines packing contents for conformance to company specifications.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from profile pallets by hand.
• Job requires constant lifting in excess of 15 to 20 pounds; standing for eight hours; stooping, bending and kneeling.
• Unloads and examines incoming shipments, records shortages and coordinates with the profile group to rectify damages and shortages.
• Loads materials onto carts and applies strapping/padding to prevent damage in transit.
• Operates stand-up forklift to move materials to designated areas.
• Performs general inventory work as required.

Summary

The purpose of this position is to carry out assigned duties, primarily focused on material handling within the Fabrication Department but support all departmental needs as business demands require.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Interprets work orders & pick sheets following written instructions to determine materials or carts to be moved or staged.
• Counts, weights, measures or examines packing contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from profile pallets by hand.
• Job requires constant lifting in excess of 15 to 20 pounds ( Full Stock lengths are handle by two employees when moving from rack to cart ) Employee must be able to stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours . Job requires stooping, bending & kneeling.
• Unloads & examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages & corresponds with the profile group to rectify damages & shortages.
• Loads materials onto carts and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent damage in transit.
• Operates a stand upside loader to move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Operates a standard industrial fork truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Performs all general inventory work as required.

• Preferred Experience with Excel, etc.
• Have a good understanding of BPCS & ADC systems
• Good Computer Skills.
• Ability to recognize similarities and differences between profiles
• Ability to add & subtract, multiply, divide.
• Forklift and material handling experience.
• Must have good communication and organizational skills.
• Be vigilant about safety
• Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence

Travel required for this position is less than 5%.

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $17.88 -$21.35, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
