Job summary

AOC Metal Works - VA is seeking a Material Handler to support production and distribution by delivering materials, staging finished goods, and maintaining inventory. The role requires seated forklift operation and willingness to cross-train across warehouse functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Significant forklift experience or certification required.
• Able to read, understand and communicate basic information in English.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a satisfactory driving record.
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth.
• Effective organization, scheduling, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Receives supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code, lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
• Willingness to cross train and work in all areas of the warehouse.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

Must be skilled in the operation of the seated forklift. Must be flexible; willing to support other departments and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
