Job summary

Lumbermen’s, based in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Material Handler to support pulling and preparing customer orders at our Walker, Michigan facility. You will perform final quality checks, unload inbound freight, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining safety and a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and job folder detail.
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand dimensions.
• Ability to read and communicate with fellow employee owners.
• Desire to do things right the first time.
• Openness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pulling customer orders and preparing them for shipment.
• Perform final quality checks on items before delivery.
• Unload inbound freight and verify against packing lists.
• Sort material by destination and stage deliveries.
• Assist Production Manager with parts movement between shop and branches.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Support rest of shop team with flow and safety.
