Job description

The Material Handler is responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Moving raw materials between locations physically and systematically, staging ingredients and packaging accurately, safely, and promptly to meet production schedules.
  2. Utilizing SAP to create transfer orders, pick for process orders, and return materials to correct locations both physically and systematically.
  3. Processing, interpreting, and completing documents such as transfer order pick lists, production schedules, shipping documents, and blend sheets.
  4. Maintaining accurate inventory of raw materials through physical counts, issuing or reversing issues systematically, and creating transfer orders for all material movements.
  5. Ensuring compliance with all SOPs and CCNA Quality System requirements, reporting quality issues promptly, and using quality materials per standards.
  6. Performing cleaning and sanitation duties to meet GMP standards.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related role.

Required tools experience:

  • Forklifts – including single fork, double fork, high lift, drum clamp, corrugated clamp, battery changes, floor scrubber, and ingredient scales.
  • SAP, ITS Mobile, Excel, Outlook, Word, and vehicle-mounted/hand-held computers for material transactions.

Required intangible skills:

  • Ability to pass CCNA Forklift license certification.
  • Proven skill in safely and efficiently operating forklifts.
  • Ability to recognize and rectify material defects according to policy.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in areas with extreme temperature variations, including warehouses, coolers, and freezers.
  • Physical ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs over a distance of 10 feet or more.
  • Availability to work extended hours, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Compliance with all safety requirements, including chemical handling, safety rules, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and PPE usage.
