Job summary

PPG Lima Distribution Center in Lima, OH is hiring a Material Handler for day shift. Starting pay is $19/hr with bi-weekly pay and overtime possible based on business needs.

You will unload trailers, store materials, process orders, and operate RF scanners and pallet jacks to ensure accurate, timely shipments. You'll work with Oracle Warehouse Management Software, follow DOT/OSHA/ISO policies, participate in audits, and support the Distribution Manager.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years warehouse/manufacturing experience.
• Basic reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
• Previous experience in paint and/or hazardous materials is a plus.
• Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, basic computer skills, and organizational skills.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. and stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time.
• Previous fork-truck and hand-jack experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming trailers from plant or suppliers using hand or electric equipment.
• Check incoming shipments and place material in proper storage locations with stock rotation.
• Process all types of orders (pallet, small package, etc.) efficiently and without error.
• Use computers, RF scanners and power equipment following distribution best practices.
• Prepare shipping documents for outgoing shipments in Oracle WMS.
• Follow DOT, OSHA, EPA, EEO, ISO and other PPG policies.
• Participate in inventory, cycle counting, and audits; ensure replenishment and shortages are identified.
• Participate in safety meetings and other required meetings.
• Perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklift).
• Maintain general housekeeping for a safe facility.
• Assist the Distribution Manager or Supervisors with duties or projects.
