Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler at the Lima, OH Distribution Center. You will ensure a quality product is available for customers, with duties spanning unloading, stocking, order processing, and documentation.

This role directly affects customer satisfaction and safety compliance. The position requires 1–2 years of warehouse experience, basic literacy and math, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years warehouse/manufacturing experience.
• Basic reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
• Experience with paint and/or hazardous materials is a plus.
• Good interpersonal, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift and hand-jack experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming trailers using hand or electric pallet equipment.
• Check incoming shipments and store materials with proper stock rotation.
• Process all orders (pallets, small packages) accurately and efficiently.
• Operate computers, RF scanners and power equipment following best practices.
• Prepare shipping documents in Oracle WMS for outgoing shipments.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, EPA, EEO, ISO and other PPG policies and regulations.
• Participate in inventory, cycle counts, and audits as required.
• Attend safety meetings, safety observations, and all required meetings.
• Perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Keep the facility clean and safe through general housekeeping.
• Assist the Distribution Manager or Supervisor with duties or special projects.
