Job summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking a Material Handler to unload, receive, stock, pick, consolidate, pack, and ship inventory in our warehouse. You will operate forklifts and handheld scanners, use the ERP system, and help maintain accuracy and efficiency in inbound/outbound processes.

You will work with a team to meet daily targets, follow safety guidelines, and adapt to changing workloads. Prior experience is helpful but not required for this role.

Qualifications

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to changing business needs with diplomacy and emotional intelligence

Responsibilities

Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
Use our ERP system to receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage
Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock
Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device
Retrieve items from racking accurately using handheld scanners and ERP system
Sort and consolidate picked items for shipment processing
Pack products accurately and securely using our SPS system
Operate warehouse equipment following all safety protocols
Meet performance standards for efficiency, accuracy, and quality
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report hazards
Collaborate with team to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals
Abide by company policies and support additional duties as needed

Job description

Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in, stocking, picking, consolidating, packing, and shipping inventory in the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations. This position requires the use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities

Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage racking
Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution Center
Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment
Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing
Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.

1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
