The Material Handler/Backup CDL Driver is primarily responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and tracking raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse and manufacturing facility. This position supports efficient production flow through safe and accurate material handling practices. In addition, this position serves as a backup shuttle driver, transporting materials and finished goods between the Morganton Warehouse and Hildebran Manufacturing Facility using a tractor-trailer when the primary driver is unavailable. The driving function is performed on an as-needed basis, with the majority of work time dedicated to warehouse material handling activities.

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, grasp, push, pull, and use hands for material handling activities throughout the shift. Frequently lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Ability to enter and exit a tractor-trailer cab safely and repeatedly when performing driving duties. Required to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle during shuttle runs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear, communicate, and see with or without correction. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
