Job summary

POET is seeking a Material Handler for our Cloverdale, IN facility. The role loads dried distillers grains, ethanol, corn oil, and other products into trucks and rail cars, using mechanical equipment and scales while ensuring timely delivery and product safety.

The position requires working outdoors, weekends and holidays, with potential DOT certification and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. Training provided for grain/biomass processes and software systems.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Experience with heavy machinery preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist with grain product or biomass unloading.
• Complete grading of grain products or biomass as trained.
• Operate large machinery; DOT certification may be required.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety protocols.
• Enter bins adhering to POET’s confined space procedures.
• Complete HAZMAT paperwork when necessary.
• Learn and operate processes in the grains operation and perform preventative maintenance as directed.
