Job summary

Auer Steel & Heating Supply Company in West Fargo, ND is hiring a Material Handler/Back Up Non-CDL Route Driver. The role combines warehouse picking with in-town deliveries Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm. You will load for dispatch, operate the truck for deliveries, and assist with stock and returns.

Ideal candidates are organized, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a good driving record and DOT readiness. Competitve pay and full-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of verifiable delivery driving experience.
• Medical Certificate Required.
• Good driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Good understanding of traffic rules and local layout; ability to use material handling tools.

Responsibilities

• Check and confirm dispatch orders and materials for delivery.
• Load for orderly dispatch.
• Operate truck to pick up and deliver products, materials, supplies, equipment.
• Pick up items for return with proper paperwork.
• Obtain signatures on shipping slips and sign for materials picked up.
• Pull tickets and pick orders.
• Load orders and maintain clean work area.
• Put stock away and check returns.
• Use scanners to check stock items and locate inventory discrepancies.
• Fill in for out-of-town delivery drivers during PTO.

Job description

We are currently hiring a Material Handler/ Back Up Non-CDL Route Driver to work in our West Fargo, ND location. This position is best suited for an organized, responsible, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is looking for a career within a well-established company.

The individual will handle in-town deliveries Monday through Friday. 70% of the time the individual would be in the warehouse picking orders, 30% of the time delivering orders to customers. The position is from 7:30am - 4:00pm daily.

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?

• Check and confirm dispatch orders and materials for delivery.
• Load for orderly dispatch.
• Operate truck to pick up and deliver products, materials, supplies, equipment, etc.
• Pick up items for return with proper paperwork.
• Obtain appropriate signatures on shipping slips and sign for materials picked up.
• Pull tickets and pick orders.
• Load orders
• Maintain clean work area.
• Put stock away.
• Checks returns.
• Uses scanners to check stock items and locate inventory discrepancies.
• Fill in for out-of-town delivery drivers while on PTO.
• Other tasks as assigned.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of verifiable delivery driving experience.
• Medical Certificate Required.
• Good driving record required. Applicants must also meet the Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Good understanding of traffic rules and regulations; roads, freeways and local layout. Ability to use hand truck, forklift, dolly, pallet jack, etc.
