Job summary

Eberhard Manufacturing, a division of The Eastern Company, is seeking a Material Handler A at our Strongsville, OH facility. This is a 1st shift, full-time role in the receiving department, reporting to the foreman and collaborating with production teams.

You will operate a tow motor, weigh and move parts, perform basic inspections, and assist with tooling and scrap handling while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Tow motor experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude essential.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate tow motor to move items around the plant.
• Weigh up all skids for correct piece counts and notify Foreman of discrepancies.
• Write out plating tickets and prepare tickets for production.
• Daily tow motor inspection and safety checks.
• Assist in cleaning and disposal of scrap and cardboard.
• Support tooling maintenance and dies handling as needed.

Role Description

The Eberhard Manufacturing team is seeking a Material Handler for our facility in Strongsville, OH. This is a 1st shift, full-time position. The Material Handler A will be responsible for job duties in the receiving department.

Responsibilities

• Operate Chip Spinner
• Service all Production Workers
• Weigh up all skids for correct piece counts before moving to next operation(s) and notify Foreman of any incorrect piece counts
• Write out plating tickets
• Empty all scrap hoppers/weigh up and report weight to Foreman
• Sign name and place F.I.F.O. Sticker on move ticket
• Adjusts Tow Motor Forks Manually
• Slide forks in or out to adjust to the load being handled
• Pull Dies Off of Presses
• Adjust tow motor forks to press height and width to accommodate the die
• Push / pull die to slide off press onto tow motor
• Use hand and foot controls to operate tow motor to move items around the plant as needed
• Daily tow motor inspection/safety and maintenance
• Wash all tooling before putting away on shelves/such as dies
• Wash Part Hoppers as needed. /No chips in Hoppers
• Help with disposal of cardboard
• Operate a power washer

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills
