As a Material Handler A you will operate all on site cranes and fork lifts to lift, transport, and place materials throughout all NCM sites. Help develop lift plans and offer suggestions for the way to transport materials and components around the NCM sites.
You will report to the Assistant Area Manager and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this position 100% onsite.
Responsible for safely rigging materials and using overhead cranes to lift, transport, and place components and materials of multiple size, shape, and weights throughout all NCM sites.
Operate forklifts to load/unload company and freight vehicles.
Perform pre-use inspections of forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and rigging gear.
Perform annual inspections of rigging gear per company procedure.
Perform Material Transfers per company procedure.
Some heavy lifting.
Can follow all NCM safety procedures.
Must be familiar with and follow the WEC Lifting and Rigging Manual.
Participate in team discussions to develop lift plans for complex high risk lifts.
Manually lift and place rigging gear and hooks, which can place workers in awkward positions.
Participate in company training to maintain qualifications to operate forklifts and perform rigging activities.
Perform general responsibilities as assigned by management/guidance.
High school graduate or recognized equivalent.
1+ years of experience
Must work with proper management and guidance.
Can speak, read and write in English.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Can pass crane knowledge and practical classes.
Can pass forklift written and practical testing
High school graduate or recognized equivalent.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Familiarity with fork lift and crane operation.
Familiarity with rigging techniques and equipment
Familiarity with product and components.
