The hiring range for this position is $20-$23,depending on experience.

The Forklift / Material Handling position is responsible for safely and efficiently moving products and materials throughout Company facilities to support production.

Key responsibilities include producing high quality work according to work instructions, meeting daily work schedules, safely operating forklifts and other plant equipment, demonstrating strong knowledge of production processes, plant organization and continuous improvement.

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Key Responsibilities


Quality of Work
• Accurately follows work instructions to deliver the correct materials and quantities to all locations
• Prevents any product damage during transport, loading and unloading
• Works efficiently and independently with minimal supervision

Work Schedules
• Completes all assigned tasks according to the daily production schedule
• Identifies the most efficient way to safely complete their scheduled assignments
• Displays reliable attendance and schedules time-off with advance notice

Regulations & Safety
• No preventable accidents while operating Company forklifts and material handling equipment
• Maintains safe work habits by following all Company safety standards and procedures
• Aware of their surroundings and minimizes potential hazards or dangerous situations

Production Knowledge
• Displays the basic manufacturing process knowledge needed to complete all assigned tasks
• Cross trained to skillfully operate a variety of material handling and other production equipment

Maintenance & Organization
• Takes good care of Company forklifts and equipment under their responsibility
• Follows all preventative maintenance procedures according to schedule and inspects equipment to proactively identify needed repairs
• Organized with all required documentation related to work orders and deliveries

Process Improvements
• Identifies and suggests ways for the Company to improve the efficiency and quality of production
• Effectively assists with implementing and supporting improvements to production processes

Requirements

Educational and experience requirements include:

  • Relevant experience operating forklifts and other plant equipment and/or training in a related
  • vocational program
  • Proven ability to consistently meet production schedules
  • Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job
  • Basic math and problem solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and consistent attendance
  • Proven ability to recommend process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain organization and stay up-to-date with preventative equipment maintenance
