Job summary

Pregis in Illinois is seeking a warehouse forklift operator to safely move materials, stage inventory, load and unload trucks, and transfer products within the plant and across departments, while maintaining organized, FIFO-compliant storage.

You will uphold safety as a core value, follow standard work instructions, participate in continuous improvement, and communicate clearly during shifts. The role exposes you to moving equipment, warm/heavy workloads, and noise, with PPE required.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unloading trucks and transfer material within the plant and within departments as needed.
• Keeps Safety at the forefront of team's thinking and approach to work.
• Communicates and ensures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Skills/Qualifications: Organization, dealing with complexity, time management, process improvement, safety management, forklift operation, inventory control, lifting.
• Assists to maintain a safe, well organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.
• Maintains inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling and securing product in correct location.
• Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Other responsibilities as directed or required.

Qualifications and/or Experience:

• 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience
• 1+ years of inventory control experience
• Experience with Inventory Control/Warehouse Management software (ex. SAP) is a plus!
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Environment:

• Exposure to moving equipment
• Inside work
• Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Humidity may exceed 80%
• Noise may exceed 85dB+
• Personal Protective Equipment required

  Compensation

  The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $30-35/hour.
