Position Responsibilities

The Material Handler 3 supports the Distribution Center in Shipping, Receiving, Packaging or Returns.

  • Work with Customer Service Representatives and Product Management on resolving issues in Shipping, Receiving and Production.
  • Inspect, sort, store and perform data entry for all returned goods and all core, inbound part/unit, and non-compliant shipments according to established ISO procedures.
  • Bill credits for returned goods that meet ISO Claims Policy. Bill orders and send ASN’s according to customer requests.
  • Pick and pack assigned parts according to shop order pick tags and customer order notes.
  • Support further shop order activity by opening orders, issuing (single, multiple and miscellaneous) orders and returning excess parts to stock. Transfer stock physically and electronically as needed.
  • Provide backup for DC Supervisors.
  • Provide leadership including training to colleagues within a functional work group.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous distribution/warehouse experience required.
  • Exposure to TQM’s and knowledge of QS/ISO 9000. Forklift experience with Reach trucks, Manup and Sitdown required. Proper use of hand tools required.

Reporting to Position: Reports to Distribution Center Supervisor, has no direct reports.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time; 60 minutes continuously up to 6 hours per 10 hour day, walk up to 2 miles per day, handle or feel objects and/or tools; operate power tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; bend, verbally communicate; and hear safety indicators. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to a warehouse environment with some office exposure.

The expected base compensation for this role is $21 - $23 per hour. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
