Join a company driven by quality products across an evolving range of industries. **POSITION OVERVIEW**Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material into and out of the warehouse in a safe, accurate and efficient manner, using industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment (as necessary) to perform the movement of material.**WHAT YOU’LL DO*** Pick and deliver material to manufacturing as directed, using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.* Perform receiving and shipping functions using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.* Perform necessary transactional functions related to inventory receipts, issues, put-aways, and shipments using the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.* Operate material handling equipment, as required, to load/unload trucks, as well as put away/pick material.* Perform area housekeeping.* Make trips for supplies and pick-ups, as assigned.* Assist team members in the attainment of team goals by substituting and assisting in areas where help is needed, including production.* Perform periodic cycle counts as directed and assist in reconciliation of record variances through investigation of inventory history and related transactions.* Conduct physical inventories as scheduled.* Monitor and improve the following measurements: 99.95% minimum inventory record accuracy, all transactions performed per established procedure on an accurate and efficient basis as periodically set by the supervisor, high level of safety when operating on or around industrial lift trucks, response time for internal and external customers, and shipping-related performance (impact on customer).* Other duties as assigned.**HOW YOU’LL DO IT*** Timeliness – Ability to consistently meet attendance and scheduling expectations.* Teamwork – Interacting with teammates in a way that promotes positive, inclusive and productive workplace culture and willingness to help current and new team members.* Quality of Work – Attention to detail in following work instructions, willingness to meet production output/expectations, and limit the number of quality errors including the ability to identify and correct these errors.* Personal Accountability - Keeps promises and honors commitments, accepts responsibility for one's actions and assumes responsibility when dealing with problems, crises, and issues.* Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.* Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties**,** including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.**WHAT TO BRING*** Ability to obtain certification and ability to operate all material handling equipment including, but not limited to, industrial lift trucks.* Basic written and verbal communication skills needed.* Ability to perform basic arithmetic.* Moderate to heavy physical lifting, up to 50lbs.* Ability to maneuver in or around equipment.* Ability to stand, walk and move around for the entirety of the scheduled work shift.* Ability to perform physical tasks requiring frequent repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning body to load and unload materials from racks, skids, and carts of varying heights.* Ability to obtain a basic understanding of the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system, which uses computerized records and bar code scanning technology.* Must be a team player.**WHAT WILL HELP*** High School Diploma or equivalent.* 1+ years of manufacturing or material handling experience.**WORK ENVIRONMENT**While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; raw glass; repetitive movements; and hazardous materials (e.g., flammable, toxic or corrosive chemicals). The work environment is temperature controlled, and the noise level is usually moderate. Team members will be provided with personal protective equipment as needed to protect against identified hazards and promote a safe work environment.
