Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Reno, NV is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd shift to operate forklifts, load/unload trailers, and manage stock and pallets. You will follow daily safety and quality procedures while supporting LEAN tools and continuous improvement initiatives.

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler (2nd Shift) - Cable Tray at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 + .50 Shift Differential per hour.

CORE HOURS: 2:30PM - 11PM. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What You’ll Do

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
• Load and unload trailers as required
• Pick and pull stock for delivery
• Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
• Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
• Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
• Oversee recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
• Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
• Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
• Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand on feet continuously during working shift with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Skills
