Job Title: Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job Description

The Material Handler will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehoused parts and delivering to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. The role involves working closely with production lines to optimize the use of personnel, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler must adhere to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Work is supervised regularly, with assignments involving a well-defined set of tasks. The role requires following established procedures and policies, with frequent reviews for accuracy. The position offers opportunities for career development through project assignments and learning the principles and practices of the discipline.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain stock area and ensure proper storage of materials.
2. Perform daily forklift inspections.
3. Transport materials within the factory using forklifts or other equipment.
4. Follow safety guidelines and company safety initiatives.
5. Enter, maintain, and transact materials in Generac ERP system.
6. Identify and resolve basic problems related to material handling.
7. Work effectively in a team environment with professional work ethics.
8. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
9. Perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
10. Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Operate forklifts or similar equipment safely.
• Practice safe working habits and support safety initiatives.
• Use ERP systems for material transactions.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic PC skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing, walking, and manual manipulation of objects. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity for close and distance vision is necessary. Temperatures may vary, and PPE must be worn as required.

Occasional travel may be required.
