Job summary

SARSTEDT in Newton, NC is looking for a Material Handler (2nd Shift) to receive, maintain, and organize production inventory in the packing area. Hours are Mon-Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm, with occasional Saturdays.

Starting at $19.09/hour plus a $1.00 shift differential, the role includes generous PTO, health plans, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for training and career growth within a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating manuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, maintain, and organize production inventory in the packing area.
  • Move and store inventory in the interim warehouse.
  • Pull and stage product based on order demand.
  • Unload product from conveyor and transfer to logistics center.
  • Complete administrative duties such as data entry and related tasks.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Be Doing

As our next Material Handler(2nd Shift), you will esnure receiving, maintaining, and organizing production inventory in the Packing area.

  • Responsible for moving and storing inventory in the interim warehouse.
  • Maintain and organize inventory and performs physical inventory counts.
  • Responsible for pulling and staging product based on order demand.
  • Crosstrain in the Packing Department and unload product from the conveyor line and transfer product to the logistics center.
  • Work according to safety regulations at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Contribute to keeping the packing and interim warehouse areas clean and organized.
  • Complete administrative duties such as data entry, resolving minor issues, and making cardboard or plastic bales.
  • Hours are Mon-Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pmm and occasional Saturdays.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training.
  • Forklift License and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
