Job summary

AMMEGA in Beacon, NY is hiring a Material Handler responsible for safety, 5S, shipping, receiving, and material flow. You will locate freight, put-aways, pick orders, cycle count, and support process improvements to boost team productivity.

You will operate pallet jacks or tow motors, use barcode scanners, and transact materials in our ERP system. Flexibility with hours and strong teamwork are essential. This role requires physical effort and clear communication to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with tow motors and pallet jacks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Warehouse experience with barcode scanners.
• Must be able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and help improve the safety program.

Job Description

The Material Handler is accountable for safety, 5S, shipping, receiving freight, locating freight, put-aways, picking orders, shipping & receiving, cycle counting, assembly, process improvement and team productivity.

• Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
• Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.
• Manage workflow and delivery of merchandise throughout the plant.
• Coordinate and execute the delivery of materials to machines from its inventory location.
• Reweigh and return any residual unused material. Make sure it is labeled with name of material and qty.
• Coordinate and execute the movement of work order in process to each machine, as needed.
• Stage finished goods neatly in designated finished goods location
• Transacting materials consumed by production in ERP
• Maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s)
• Pick orders timely & correctly
• Cycle count materials
• Learn & navigate our inventory control system
• Ability to check-in, put away parts
• Prepare handling of goods
• Material receipts
• Ability to pick & pack orders sturdy & presentable
• Support shipping/receiving
• Other duties as assigned
• $21.07 per hour 1st shift (+$1.00 shift differential for 2nd)

Requirements of the job

Physical demands

• Ability to frequently lift-up to 55 pounds.
• This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing; use of hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
• This position requires frequent communications with other employees and freight carriers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
