Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to support production by pulling and staging materials, printing and distributing pick tickets, and relaying information to Material Support.

You will help meet production schedules, operate material handling equipment, perform computer transactions, and assist during peak times while following safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Formación

• Must have high school or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• Forklift certification a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions.
• Organizes material pull sequence and relays information to Material Support.
• Keeps production schedules on track by timely material movement.
• Operates material handling equipment during peak times.
• Maintains communication with management and shift teams; enforces safety procedures.
• Supports Continuous Improvement projects and training needs when assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Descripción del empleo

• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods. Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• When assigned, assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
• Follows all safety procedures, wears proper PPE. Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement. Proposes changes to Materials Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Some physical demand, often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).

One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred. Forklift Certification a plus.
