Job summary

Golden Pet Manufacturing is seeking a Material Handler to join our team on the 1st shift. You will sort, move, and record materials, operate a forklift, and help maintain a safe, efficient plant environment.

Ideal candidates have material handling experience, can lift up to 20 pounds, and work well in a fast-paced team with occasional cold or wet conditions. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Prior material handling experience and operating powered industrial vehicles preferred.
• Constant walking, standing, bending and stooping, plus overall mobility.
• Frequent lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to work in cold and wet environments.
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in vats according to predetermined sequence.
• Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distribute to production areas.
• Record amount of materials or items received or distributed.
• Operate forklift and automation system to move product throughout the plant.
• Move raw materials to production floor and finished goods to storage.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in combos/vats according to predetermined sequence
• Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distribute to production areas
• Record amount of materials or items received or distributed
• Operate forklift and automation system to move product throughout the manufacturing plant, including moving raw material to production floor and finished goods to packaged storage
• Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area
• Protect employees and company safety and security through reporting and stopping occurrences such as damage to product and/or property, theft, product tampering and questionable behavior
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior material handling experience and experience operating powered industrial vehicles
• Constant walking, standing, bending and stooping and bending
• Frequent lifting of items up to 20 pounds
• Ability to work in an environment with cold temperatures and a wet environment
• Strong teamwork mentality and eager to work in a team environment
