• Move remnant material to storage or recycling bins.
• Support inventory counts and maintain organized staging areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement of material and components at the start of the production process. This role supports production flow by ensuring that Manufacturing has the material they need so production jobs start on time to support customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, receive, and store incoming material and hardware
• Locate and retrieve material and hardware for production jobs
• Transport parts across the plant using a hand truck, fork truck as needed
• Read and interpret shop routers to ensure parts are routed correctly
• Assist production operators with handling material as needed
• Ensure that remnant material is moved back into storage or into recycling bins
• promptly
• Assist in validating inventory counts as needed (Parts Count Training required)
• Maintain material staging areas clean and organized
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of steady work history at a recent or prior employer preferred
• High school diploma or GED required; candidates without a diploma may be considered with relevant experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to understand measurements and properly use measurement tools
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be comfortable with using computers and tablets
• Available to work overtime (including Saturdays) as needed
• Strong interest in hands-on production work
• Must be able to life 50 pounds.
  

The Pay Range For This Role Is

22.00 - 26.00 USD per hour
