Job Summary

At Richelieu Foods, we make Great Food from Great People. We are looking for a 1st Shift Material Handler:

Essential Functions

• Transport all needed supplies correctly and on time to the required line or pre-batch area.
• Communicate with internal customers to determine proper quantities and placement of items needed.
• Responsible for complying with good manufacturing practices, maintaining proper sanitation and housekeeping in the area.
• Properly put away any warehouse picks.
• Communicate and coordinate with other Material Handlers to ensure efficient operation of the department.
• Inform proper departments or supervisors of any issues or concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Handle and transport materials and equipment as needed (e.g., Forklift operation).

Understand and verify the quantity/weight calculations to keep track of material consumption.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 Years of consistent and safe forklift operation on a stand-up forklift.
• The ability to read and understand line schedules and material needs.
• Positive attendance record.
• Safe operation of stand-up forklift.

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Competencies

Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Technical Capacity

• Ability to work cooperatively and maintain a professional working relationship with employees.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.
• Good organizational skills required.
• Flexibility.

Physical Demands

• Lift up to shoulder: Rarely 5 pounds.
• Lift up to waist: Rarely 10 pounds.
• Lift overhead: Rarely 5 pounds.
• Carry on up to 25 feet: Rarely 5 pounds.
• Carry upstairs: Rarely 5 pounds.
