Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Wadsworth, OH is hiring a Material Handler to manage daily receiving, storage and shipping operations. You will sort shipments, locate parts, and maintain accurate inventory while supporting shipping to domestic and export customers.

Responsibilities

  • Open, separate & sort shipments from suppliers.
  • Put parts away from Receiving & assign part locators.
  • Support inventory accuracy.
  • Ship orders domestically and export; use shipping methods & carriers.
  • Pick & fill customer orders; repackage & label goods.
  • Pull, build packages, pack & ship products to customer orders; update inventory.
  • Create & complete shipping paperwork (bill of lading, invoice, inventory transactions).
  • Notify planning of part shortages.
  • Operate pallet jacks & hand trucks to transport parts.
  • Order consumables as assigned.
  • Identify root causes with team and implement corrective actions.
  • Keep work area neat using 5S and safety practices.
  • Support LEAN activities; inform supervisor of safety needs.
  • Follow OSHA compliance; be an effective team member.

Your main responsibilities
Perform all job duties to include but not limited to: proper & accurate inventory storage, retrieval, order picking, packaging, shipping, & processing customer returns are among the responsibilities of this position. Reports directly to the Supervisor and takes direction from the Team Lead.

Job Overview:

  • Open, separate & sort shipments received from suppliers
  • Put parts away from Receiving & assign part locators as needed
  • Support/maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ship orders, both domestic and export; using different methods of shipping & carriers, ensuring safe shipping practices.
  • Pick & fill customer orders. Repackaging & labeling goods is required.
  • Pull, build packages, pack, & ship products to customer orders. Assess & ensure correct components, drawings, & documentation are in place to ship products on time. Put final product on location in finished goods (physically) & update system inventory. Update computer with transaction information (close manufacturing order/purchase receipts/etc.).
  • Create & complete shipping paperwork to include bill of lading, invoice, & inventory transactions.
  • Notify planning of any part shortages.
  • Utilize computer to print labels & accurately ship customer orders & returns via identified carrier.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks & hand trucks to transport parts.
  • Order consumables (bags, grease, ribbon, labels, etc.) as assigned
  • Responsible for product quality. Work with team members & other departments to identify root causes to problems & implement corrective actions.
  • Keep work area neat & organized using best 5S and Safety practices
  • Support & participate in all LEAN activities
  • Inform supervisor of maintenance & safety needs
  • Follow all OSHA compliance regulations
  • Be an effective team member & perform other duties as required by supervision & as responsibilities necessitate
