Job summary

Med-National Staffing Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for our Mount Vernon, IL site. This contract role operates on a day shift, 7am to 7pm, with a pay rate of $17.50 per hour.

Opportunity exists to convert to full-time WM employees after 60-90 days in good standing. Responsibilities include forklift operation, manual material handling, loading into trailers, and documenting work performed. Required safety gear provided.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience is preferred, but training can be provided.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail is required.
• Must be able to work 1st shift hours.
• High school diploma, GED, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Move materials manually and via forklift. Can forklift certify if necessary.
• Load materials into trailers and dumpsters.
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Sort and bale various recyclables.
• Properly document work performed.
• Lift objects up to 25-50lbs.

Schedule: Day Shift, 7am to 7pm, pay rate $17.50

Must have

• Gloves, HV vests, safety glasses.
• Employees will need to bring steel-toed boots.
• Current state or valid state ID.

Operating forklifts, operating balers, and manually loading tires. Forklift training will be provided onsite. Work directly with other peers and receive directions from Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Customer Environmental Engineering and Quality people.

Shift Details

The schedule rotates using a Pitman schedule: Mo, Tu, Fr, Sa one week, then Su, We, Th the following week. Have every other weekend off. Paid holidays.

Work Environment

• Ability to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
• Work primarily takes place at a tire manufacturer with exposure to various weather conditions (heat or cold) and physical elements such as dirt, odors, and noise.
• Environment can be dirty.
• Uniforms will be provided once converted to a full time employee.
• All Personal Protective Equipment will be provided including safety boots, earplugs, gloves, etc.
