The Material Handler, Shipping is responsible for loading and unloading materials, preparing outbound shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records within the shipping and receiving area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products safely and efficiently.
• Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
• Identify and label materials and record their locations in the warehouse to maintain accurate inventory.
• Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying location, then pulling, packing, and loading them.
• Ensure that all inbound and outbound loads are received and verified accurately.
• Operate trucks, forklifts, and other equipment to move freight; must obtain and maintain required certification.
• Perform and report cycle counts when needed.
• Comply with all warehouse safety rules and food safety guidelines.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse setting or logistics; experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions and work independently with little guidance.
• Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
• Must obtain forklift certification prior to operating equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to pull, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Extensive walking required throughout the shift.
