Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a 1st shift Material Handler in the West Bend, WI area. The role supports outbound shipments, keeps stock for all stations, and reports to the Production Supervisor at the West Bend plant.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Candidates should have a High School diploma, 2 years forklift experience (preferably in metal fabrication), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with Lean Manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2 years forklift experience ideally in a metal fabrication shop.
• Experience in a fast pace environment.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience moving large metal objects.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site based on work orders or instructions.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Operates forklift or other equipment to convey materials to storage or designated areas.
• May occasionally operate an industrial truck or hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
• Complete daily forklift inspection before starting the shift.
• Assist with housekeeping related to the plant's 6s plan.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Overview

The material handler will report to the Production Supervisor in the West Bend plant. This position is responsible for maintaining and verifying the records and documentation of outbound shipments from the lines and keeping stock for all stations within the department.

Seeking a 1st Shift Material Handler. Hours: M-F, 6am-1:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using a forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Required to fill out an daily inspection before starting up the forklift
• Assists with routine or general housekeeping tasks as they relate to the plants 6s plan.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
