Job summary

Specialty Building Products is hiring a Material Handler for our Edwardsville, IL facility. The role involves shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material as part of the Operations team, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The position operates on the 1st Shift (7:30am CST start) and pays $22 per hour plus full benefits. Forklift operation and accurate inventory handling are essential components of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years warehouse experience, including flat bed loading/unloading.
• Neat and clean appearance and teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and rail cars and replenish designated warehouse locations.

• Use handheld scanner for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting per WMS.
• Collaborate with WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.

Job description

Amerhart is currently hiring for a Material Handler for our Edwardsville, IL (STL) facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform all duties associated with shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material. As a member of the Operations team, offering to help others when the workload demands, treating teammates with respect and care and performing work in a safe manner according to safety policies and procedures is critical.

• Hourly Pay of $22/hour + Full benefits
• 1st Shift hours are from 7:30am CST till work is finished for the day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars and replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled. Report any problems such as shortages or damaged material, etc. Inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed by sales.
• Use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.

Performance of Miscellaneous Functions

• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect the forklift prior to daily operation to avoid equipment problems and malfunctions in accordance with OSHA regulations.
• Cross train and back-up others in warehouse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 1-2 years warehouse experience required with some experience with FLAT BED loading and unloading.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.

- Prefer candidates to have Sit Down forklift experience.
