Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Material Handler to move materials from inventory to production lines and to perform ERP-based transactions. You will help maintain inventory accuracy and collaborate with planning, offsite warehouses, and production leadership to ensure timely parts delivery.

The role requires a High School diploma, forklift experience, and the ability to operate electric forklifts. We offer $20.00 per hour with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 1+ years of material handling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1+ years of forklift driving with a safe record.
• Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to determine accurate order quantities.
• Ability to work independently and meet material requests.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with team members.
• Basic computer skills to review requests via internal applications.
• Basic math skills for quantities and weights.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Must follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures and report concerns.

Responsibilities

• Complete forklift certification program and requisite testing hours.
• Manage inventory transactions using Oracle ERP.
• Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate with planning, offsite warehouses, and production leadership for on-time parts delivery.
• Identify process gaps and propose improvements to strengthen inventory control.
• Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and Oracle; investigate root causes.
• Support receiving procedures and manage material storage and flow between inventory and production.
• Use Oracle ERP to determine part quantities, locations, and receiving history.
• Review job orders and drawings to determine required parts and materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $20.00. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short‑term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Material Handler!

The Material Handler – Transporting material from inventory locations to production lines / shipping making the necessary transactions using ERP systems (Oracle). Maintaining inventory accuracy and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete S&C Forklift certification program, including any required testing and certification hours need to pass the program.
• Manage inventory transaction using ERP systems (Oracle).
• Support inventory activities such as cycle counting and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Work with cross functional teams such as planning, offsite warehouses, and production leadership to ensure on time parts delivery and inventory accuracy.
• Proactively identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen inventory control / accuracy.
• Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and Oracle, investigate root causes while recommending corrective actions.
• Support receiving procedures and manage material storage and flow between inventory and production lines.
• Utilize Oracle ERP to determine part quantities, locations, and receiving history.
• Review job orders and part drawings to accurately determine which parts and materials are needed for specific jobs and areas.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment.
• 1+ years of driving a forklift, (standup preferred), with a safe driving record.
• Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
• Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
• Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
• Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
• Proficient in using MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
