Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to stage material, load/unload trucks and transfer material within the plant.
• Maintain a safe, organized warehouse and follow FIFO practices.
• Identify and record inventory locations and keep stock in its correct place.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment and ensure correct location is used.
• Communicate safety procedures and suggestions for improvement.

Position: Material Handler

Location: McDonough, GA

Shift (S) Available: 6AM-6PM & 6PM-6AM (2-2-3 Schedule)

Material Handler Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unloading trucks and transfer material within the plant and within departments as needed.
• Keeps Safety at the forefront of team’s thinking and approach to work.
• Communicates and ensures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Skills/Qualifications: Organization, dealing with complexity, time management, process improvement, safety management, forklift operation, inventory control, lifting.
• Assists to maintain a safe, well organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.
• Maintains inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling and securing product in correct location.
• Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others
• Promote positive teamwork culture
• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition
• Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture

Material Handler Qualifications and/or Experience:

• 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience
• 1+ years of inventory control experience
• Experience with Inventory Control/Warehouse Management software (ex. SAP) is a plus!
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Exposure to moving equipment
• Humidity may exceed 80%
• Personal Protective Equipment required

• Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling
