Job summary

Pregis is hiring a Material Handler in McDonough, GA. You will operate a sit-down forklift, stage materials, and assist with loading/unloading trucks while maintaining safe, organized inventory within the plant.

We require 1+ year forklift experience and inventory control knowledge. This full-time role includes a 2-2-3 schedule (6AM-6PM & 6PM-6AM) with overtime as needed and a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1+ year sit-down forklift experience.
• Experience with inventory control and warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load and unload trucks, and move material within the plant.
• Maintain FIFO, keep an organized, safe warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.
• Identify and record inventory locations and prepare finished stock for shipment.
• Follow safety procedures and communicate any safety concerns promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and team goals.

Position: Material Handler

Location: McDonough, GA

Shift (S) Available: 6AM-6PM & 6PM-6AM (2-2-3 Schedule)

Material Handler Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unloading trucks and transfer material within the plant and within departments as needed.
• Keeps Safety at the forefront of team's thinking and approach to work.
• Communicates and ensures all safety procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Skills/Qualifications: Organization, dealing with complexity, time management, process improvement, safety management, forklift operation, inventory control, lifting.
• Assists to maintain a safe, well organized, FIFO (first in, first out) controlled warehouse per Pregis Best Practice.
• Maintains inventory by identifying and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling and securing product in correct location.
• Be a reliable member of the team, always identifying and professionally communicating ways to improve the work environment.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others

• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition
• Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment

Material Handler Qualifications and/or Experience:

• 1+ years of sit-down forklift experience
• 1+ years of inventory control experience
• Experience with Inventory Control/Warehouse Management software (ex. SAP) is a plus!
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Environment:

• Exposure to moving equipment
• Inside work
• Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
• Humidity may exceed 80%
• Noise may exceed 85dB+
• Personal Protective Equipment required

Physical Characteristics:

• Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
• Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling
