Job Description

• This position is for a 12-hour rotating day shift (7:00AM to 7:00PM). Schedule: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Requirements

• Remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process products from the discharge unit of printing press or adhesive coating equipment.
• Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds, etc., and notify the Pressroom.
• Remove folded signatures from web press and place them on pallets or skids for removal to warehouse or binding areas.
• Adjust stacking mechanisms on presses according to paper dimensions. Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, carts, and trays.
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other devices.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or containers.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them using banding machines and clinchers.
• Operate automated equipment and industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Assist Press Crew with equipment make-ready tasks such as retrieving, hanging, recycling, or storing plates.
• Perform in-process quality checks of printed materials for blemishes, scratches, or other defects.

Qualifications

• Ability to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count, and rotate items on/off printing press equipment following instructions or under supervision.
• Knowledge of automatic counters and tabulating counts for jobs.
• Ability to complete forms related to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Good understanding of warehouse layout, item identification codes, procedures, and storage areas for proper placement or retrieval of materials.
• Skill in using manual dollies, carts, hand trucks, and hand tools such as hammers, pliers, strapping, stretch wrapping tools, tape fasteners, and metal band sheers.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.32 to $22.71 per hour. The actual pay offered may vary based on education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. Compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, call-in, and standby pay.
