Position Title: Material Handler 1

Pay Rate: $15.55/hr

Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time (7:30 am – 4:00 pm)

Physical Location: 4300 W. 29th Street, South Wichita, KS 67215

The Job You Will Perform:

• Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills
• Sort and segregate recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, paper, etc.) from incoming mixed recycle streams
• Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chute or container
• Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items
• Follow all Company safety policies and procedures, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations
• Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of special waste or other loads that require special attention
• Complete sorting and deboxing of material
• Dump gaylords, totes and cages
• Complete daily pre-start forklift maintenance inspection report (or VCR)
• Move/stack pallet/materials on the production floor
• Complete daily weekly monthly PMs for all certified mobile equipment
• Operate a down-stroke baler and electric and manual pallet jack
• Must be able to lift 25 – 30 lbs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards
• Manage controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
• Complete purchase requests, time sheets and all related paperwork required to document maintenance activities
• Communicate with floor lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, unacceptable or non-conforming loads, poor bale quality, or any other issues with material being handled
• Adhere to Plant policies and guidelines
