Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for on-site work on our production floor. You will prepare structural steel, assist with loading/unloading and feed the production line with material while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires 2-3 years with overhead cranes, forklift experience, and the ability to work in hot/cold environments. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits in a fast-paced shop setting.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience with overhead cranes.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Willing to work 1st or 2nd shift; 2nd shift has $3.00/hr differential.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to work in hot/cold environments and stand up to 10 hours.
• Must be organized and multitask in a fast-paced shop.

A little about us

Since 1985, Kinsley Steel has been delivering unmatched quality steel on time and on budget. Our certified and highly-skilled teams specialize in structural steel design, engineering, detailing, fabrication, erection and retrofit to existing structural members.

The Material Handler is responsible for preparing structural steel and assisting with loading and unloading steel from trucks as required.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate forklift as needed
• Perform rigging work including jacking and staking
• Load and unload steel from trucks
• Load steel to transfer tables to feed production line
• Perform other duties as required to support the fabrication shop

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have 2-3 years experience with using overhead cranes.
• Experience using and operation a forklift is required.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
• Works in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures.
• 1st and 2nd shift positions available. For those working on 2nd shift, a $3.00 per hour differential is added to the base pay.
• Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Must be able to tolerate hot and cold working environment.
• Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours.
• Must be organized and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
